You could get the EVGA GTX 1080 ti Hybrid for cheaper then that Asus Strix.

It's not "necessary", but the rig would be extremely underwhelming with all that raw housepower booting off a 7200rpm drive!

Definitely some changes to bring the price down - I like WildCard's revisions. You could still have your AIO etc, if you wanted with a couple of tweaks from WC's.
