4k Gaming Rig Help

Hey guys, so I want a gaming PC that will be able to play games at 4k. My Budget is about 2000 US Dollars. I plan to get the r9 390x when it is released at the end of next month. I am asking for help now because I want the PC finished by then and with the little time I have at the moment I would like to have it all set sooner than later. Please leave some build suggestions below as it would really help me out thanks.

wattage not really but I would like to in the future have a 2-3 way sli or corssfire depending on the card I get. I will be overclocking

That is overkill. You only need 8 gigs of ram and you need a better cooler for serious overclocks.

I think your missing the fact he's going to use the R9 390X card as stated in his post.
And still gimped 3.5GB of Vram total and running 8X8X8

For 4K gaming, 16 GB RAM will likely be recommended for future games. The R9-295X2 or R9-390X is by no means overkill. Even two GTX 980s in SLI will struggle to get 60 fps maxed 4K in some games.

I would recommend you get a video card with more than 4GBs of VRAM. GTA 5 last night ate 5.5 with the details cranked up. BF4 and Witcher do the same.

2 x 390x will be good, let's wait for the launch, if it's not a good upgrade from 290x, we can go for 2x 290x or even 2x 295x. With dx12 pre installed in the upcoming w10, I am sure, 290x will change the game once again 😀

Id say go with z97 a 4690k or 4790k and get a titan x or wait for 390x. The rest doesnt matter.

All right, so is the R9-270X only temporary? How about this: use this build and grab a GTX 980 Ti later on while using the included GPU as a PhysX card. With that PSU, you can easily run two GTX 980 Tis in SLI plus the GTX 960 for PhysX.

I'd wait until AMD's cards come out first, I know you want the computer now, but gaming at 4k is a tall order, a single Titan X at $1000 can't average above 40 fps in Battlefield 4 on ultra settings:

Or you could go with a 1440p setup which is less taxing and still looks amazing.

I agree that 4K is pretty taxing. A build like this is needed to run games like The Witcher 3 at 60 fps in 4K with high / ultra settings.
