Heres the situation: I want to buy a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 the $800 dollar one. http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15-7559-laptop/pd?ref=PD_Family

Thing is, i can put in the 4k touch screen display for little extra which i would like. First thing is i know gaming on a GTX 960m (4GB of vram) at 4k isn't recommended at all. But i would like the 4k while browsing the web or just doing other stuff. So heres the question:

Would turning down the resolution on games from 4k to 1080p look terrible? would it look like a normal 1080p screen if i did (like no fuzziness)? is it worth it?

Solution
4k resolution on a small screen will leave text so very small as to be all but unreadable.
Scaling down does not always work so well.

Then, if you play fast action shooters, you will not get a very high fps gaming at 4k with any gpu, let alone a more modest 960m.

If you can, go see a live demo of the options you are looking at.

I think a 1080P 15" would be about it. I don't know if touch is worth it either.

Whatever you do, plan on a ssd for windows; any laptop is slow without one.

And, check the Lenovo Y700. They are constantly offering deals at some very big discounts. You generally get a I7 along with the 960m graphics.
