4K monitor flashes single horizontal line randomly

Hello,

A single horizontal line flashes in every 4-5 seconds at random heights but mostly close to the middle on my new 4K monitor when I watch a video or play a game. Sometimes even when the PC is idle. What could it be? I'm worried that the display might be defective.

My specs: Windows 10 64bit, i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, GTX 960, SAMSUNG U28E590D monitor.

Are you using a HDMI 2.0 or highspeed cable. 4K needs a good cable, especially at 4k@60FPS, so a crappy cable will start to show signs like that.

Of course other things can too, but the cable is a good place to start.

I have no way to tell for sure but I think it is a HDMI 1.4 cable. So you think I should try a 2.0 one. I'll give it a go, thank you!
