4k monitor or 1440p monitor at 27 inches?

I'm going to be building a new computer within the next few months for gaming and I can't decide on which resolution to go for at 27 inches. Anything higher than that, such as 32 inches, is too expensive for me. Whatever I choose will be IPS. I've seen a lot of people talk about bad scaling for 4k. At 27 inches, would this be something that I would have to worry about a lot? I also hear a lot of people say to not go 4k unless it's 32+ inches.

But as for 1440p, that's a little cheaper, but it feels like with 4k I would be investing more in the future for when GPUs will be able to run 4k better. 1440p just seems like it's going to be swept under the rug soon just like 900p whereas 4k is the future. But then again, at that resolution I don't think there are many scaling problems.

And lastly, is there a big difference between 4k and 1440p at 27 inches? Or would I be satisfied with 1440p?

Thank you for all the help.

Solution
There is a good difference between 1440p and 4k, but your probably going to be fine with 1440p especially on a budget. More importantly, what are you PC specs? A GTX 1070 would probably be the bare minimum for 4k, but even in that case i would pair a 1440p monitor with a GTX 1070. If your PC can easily handle 4k well, go for it.

4k 27 inches would look amazing. Deciding if its worth it is up to you, 1440p looks good to on a 27in screen, but 4k looks better. I would be more concerned with having a powerful enough PC, to enjoy 4k fully. You may find it better going for a 1440p 144Hz screen.

I have a 27" 1440p monitor and I found text a little small for my eyes (compared to my 23" 1080p monitor) so I had to make text slightly larger in Windows/Google Chrome. I would assume 27" 4k the text would be even smaller, but sharper. I would take a look in stores to see which one is more comfortable to your eyes.
