Hello,
Have just come accross this amazing monitor on eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-U28D590-UHD-Monitor-28-4K-3840-x-2160-1ms-TN-panal-HDMI-Display-Port-/121283686443
It is a 4K display (i.e 4 x 1080p) and believe it or not, has a 60HZ refresh rate when using displayport 1.2, not to mention a 1ms response time. Okay, so its a TN panel, but I am not a photographer so colours are a fair sacrifice for me (compared to IPS).
I currently have a 27" monitor which is a shameful 1080p (i know, bad size monitor for the pixels). I bought this huge monitor only because when playing games on my PC i prefer to use the xbox360 controller (I prefer console type gaming, on a PC because of mods etc).
Okay, so here is my dilemma. The 4K monitor is only 1 inch larger than my current monitor and I am very worried about the text/PPI in windows when using a 4K display. What are your thoughts on this?
I know 4K will need a beefy system and that's okay, I intend to run the 780 ti in SLI (currently only have one)
Gaming should therefore be 'okay', but I am only concerned about the text and UI being incredily small on such a high resolution. Windows does a great job with the PPI / UI scaler, but for some programs this is not going to work.
Just incase this is needed, I am running Windows 8.1 (made it look just like Win7) and have the following hardware:
Current monitor: Viewsonic 27" 1080p
HDD: 3TB Seagate 7200
HDD2: 3TB WD 5200
SDD: 240GB Crucial M500
CPU: 3570K at 4.4ghz
GPU: GTX 780 TI
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600
PSU: Corsair HX850
Yay or Nay on the 4K?
Thanks
