[SOLVED] 4K Monitor Refresh Rate

Does the 4K monitor's refresh rate, 24Hz vs 60 Hz, matter in watching 4K offline movies or in youtube 4k streaming? Or the refresh rate is for gaming specs ?

Even though movies are recorded in 24fps, mostly, you shouldn't be doing general stuff in this range, it'll give you a headache. 60Hz minimum.

I found 4k @30Hz to be disconcerting in normal operations like moving windows.
60hz is very good. You will need a displayport to do 60hz, assuming your monitor and display adapter are similarly capable.

If I use a hdmi to displayport adapter, does the adapter run in 60 Hz?

What is the make/model of the graphics card or motherboard you are using?
I presume your monitor has a dp input.
I think a hdmi to dp adapter is not going to do the job.

Asus Prime Z390-A. The displayport on the motherboard is broken, thats why I need a adapter

I use a EVGA GTX750ti which outputs 4k via DP @ 60hz.
You can buy them on ebay for about $70.

I think any DP cable is capable of 60hz.
