So recently, I've found that games and even my native desktop resolution options have been showing 3620 x 2036 as an option even though I only have a 1440p monitor. While typing this out I tried to change my native resolution back to 1440p and after I clicked keep changes it switched back to 4k (although I have tabbed out of a game running at "4k." Any clues as to what's causing this? Do I just have to wait until a new driver version comes out to see if that fixes it?

Thats probably DSR if you have an nvidia gpu or VSR if you have amd. On nvida specifically its called dynamic super resolution DSR, it makes the game engine run at that resolution which can sometimes result in better anti aliasing and a sharper image, in my expeirence it makes the image blurry in a lot of games. The only game were I ever found a use for it was mass efeect 1 and 2 both of which are pretty poor ports with bad in game anti alising options.

You can turn it off in nvidia control panel under manage 3d settings if you want.
