Hi!

I am doing a build but need to know what monitor to get. I play a lot of CSGO and so am considering a 144Hz monitor. The problem is that I want to play games like GTA 5 at 4K as well but most of the affordable monitors that are 4K don't have a good refresh rate. I was wondering what I should do and wether there is a massive difference between 60Hz and 144Hz.

Some monitor suggestions would also be great! Thanks!

The thing with 4k is that you need very high end gpu to play smoothly, altough you are above 30 fps with a 290, you are gonna have some drops below 30 and that will make the experience awfull, so 4k is great, but you need like 2 970's, if you have that then go for it, if not, then i would still suggest you a 1440p screen for that money.

Well....i think its personal, i play battlefield 4 at 180 fps and i dont notice much difference. The thing with 4k is that you need some serious horse power, two 970's in sli as a minimum, and we are talking about maybe getting 60 fps in gta 4. And the scaling in windows is terrible, so its annoying to use it on the desktop. I believe the best gaming experience would be a 1440p - 144hz - gsync monitor. Like the RoG Swift or the new acer predator.

No monitor supports that, but you can play over the refresh rate of the monitor, its just better if the monitor supports it.

G-sync 4k monitors are too expensive right now. I have a budget of £350 and so was thinking of ordering a Samsung U28D590D from amazon for around £340.

I'm gonna be using a Titan X :D

BTW AMD 290X are extremely poor performance and are out performed by the 970.
