4k resolution vs VRAM

Solution

If you mean gaming, i I would say a 4 gigs of vram is probably needed (maybe 3?) but for just 4k movies and regular computer use (web browsing, school work etc) I'd think 2 gigs more than enough

thank you guys for your reply,
so if minimum of 3GB, then 6GB should be enough for 4k (assume SLI will be used in case if FPS was not well). and I think 4k will keep running for gaming for next 10 years.

here I have another question,
how the Game Engine make the difference ??
like todays if a GPU can give you 60FPS of 4k, the same GPU could give you 40FPS of 4k after two years (for example).

?

I don't think there is a gpu out there than can give you 60 fps at 4k in big games, (the Batlefield and Skyrim of the world) you might be able to do 4k 60hz in smaller games, (Shank, Bro force etc). With that said IF (big if) there were such a gpu that could do that, then I'd think that fps would go up in future years as developers learn how to optimize the engines and the games that use those engines, provided they are using the same engines and not new ones. But that's just my guess.
