4k threadripper 2950X 16 Core editing pc Ram speed???

i just built a threadripper 2950X 16 Core editing pc but its lagging a lot when using premier pro on malti cam (3 x 4k videos playing on the same window like this >>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2430BAF8NHU ).

specs
threadripper 2950X 16 Core
1080ti founders
2 x 8gb ram 3200mhz + one 8gb 2400 = 24gb
970 evo system drive (nvme) + 960 editing drive ssd (mounted externally via usb 3)
asrock taichi x399 8 ram slots
850 watt psu

i want to get more ram so i have 64gb
so do i get 6 x 8gb 3200mhz or 7 x 8gb 2400mhz

is it worth me buying 3200mhz over 2400mhz for 4k video editing ???

Are the files being read/written to that external drive? Is the software or your OS using that external drive as a cache? Regardless of how fast the SSD is you're limited by the USB 3 interface. USB 3 is usually not an issue for video but this is a pretty bandwidth-intensive process. That could be causing the issue.

the drive on my system monitor doesnt go over 10% usage tho but the ram and cpu are 85% - 100%
