I recently bought a 4k tv (TCL U50E5800FS) and I am having trouble getting it to run 60hz while at 3840x2160. I am using a Gtx 980 with the 362 driver installed, outputting from HDMI 2.0. I'm using a brand new HDMI 2.0 cable and the TV has 4x HDMI 2.0 inputs, all of which i have tried. I've already contacted TCL tech support and Nvidia support but they both just give the generic "make sure your tv softare or video card driver is up to date and it should work" answer. Ive heard of other people having success by renaming the hdmi input "pc dvi" or by enabling a "UHD COLOUR" setting, neither of which my tv has an option to do. to be quite honest its got me stumped so any help would be great.

Regards

Luke

Where are you attempting to set these options?

Most 4K TVs will default to 30Hz when hooked up to a PC. You have to head on over to the advanced display properties, click the "List All Modes" button and select 3840x1260@60hz

Beyond that, make sure the HDMI cable has come from a legitimate source, and is as short as you need it. The longer the cable the more chances of packet loss. 4K takes a lot of bandwidth.

The cable was from a legitimate source and its only a meter long. I don't see a "list all Modes" option in the advanced display settings, however when i disable the display driver there is an option for 3840x2160@60hz which is weird. This is driving me a bit crazy at the minute.
