4k TV not in 4k, only 1080p

Just bought a 4k tv. When I turn it on, it displays the resolution as 1080p. In the menu, the max res is also 1080p. This is a 4k TV, how do I get it to run in 4k? Do I have a box or something that can't run 4k?

The TV is telling you the resolution of the source. You would need a 4K source such as amazon, Roku or DTV streaming. UHD BD is not out yet, I think?

It says it does. You should be able to search for UHD shows in the programing list.

Strike that reverse. It is not in the official specifications just reviews.

I assume it is a smart TV? use the amazon app in the TV it should show UHD shows available.
