Howdy, the mobile app has gotten very hard to navigate so I'm sorry if this ends up in the wrong area.
So long story short, I'm looking for 4k TV's that either have 4:4:4 at 4k 60Hz or bare minimum 4:4:4 at 4k 30hz. They all seem out of my price range (less than a grand). I've been looking at the Spectre u500(/508)cv-umk and the new Vizio M series.
However, does anyone know how much 4:2:0 chroma subsampling effects video games? I haven't been able to find good pictures of what 4:2:0 looks like vs 4:4:4 in relation to gaming.
I've taken the time to understand what chroma subsampling is but I'm still not sure if going from a 1080p plasma Panasonic tc p42s2 (42 inches) would be a huge increase in quality without also upping in size. I sit about 3-6 feet from my tv now and the Spectre is 49" while the vizio is 43". So that's where I'm stuck.
So in total I'm asking:
-How much does 4:2:0 chroma subsampling effect video games?
-Would the increased resolution still give a better picture quality despite the 4:2:0 than my current 1080p set?
-What are the cheapest 4k 4:4:4 TV's you know of?
Thank you for your help in advance.
P.s. I have a computer than can run games at 4k so this TV would mostly be for that.
