Hey Guys,

I have invested a good amount of money into my brand new custom built PC since i need one for work, I do some 3d work but also do some heavy gaming. My Rig is listed below, From what i have read, My custom pc is near the top end and in saying so, i want to purchase a monitor that can match my pc. I have limited knowledge but so far i have seen a war between either choosing 4k resolution monitors or 100+ hz monitors. Now i do alot of gaming, more so storyline gaming then online multiplayer but i do play online multiplayer games such as cs go and LOL. But the thing is im stuck on choosing a monitor. I wont lie, i love quality looking screens but i have kept seeing the phrase once you use a 100+ hz monitor you cant go back to a 60 hz monitor. So my main question is which monitor would be best for me? also is Gsync a must for my desktop?

Also i like this monitor Acer 34" Predator X34 Curved IPS Gaming Monitor but people keep saying stay away from curved monitors? what are the main reasons?

and would anyone please give me some high to mid end monitor options so i can understand and choose which monitors give me what i need!

My Rig consists of the following:

Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 850W 80+ Gold RGB Power Supply
CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K
MotherBoard: ASUS ROG Maximus X Apex Z370 Motherboard
Ram: 16 GB G.SKILL TRIDENT ZRGB F4-3200C16D
OS - SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 (2280) Solid State Drive
Standard - SSD: 1TB INTEL 600P SERIES, M.2 (2280) PCIe 3.0 NVMe 80MM
CPU COOLER: Corsair Hydro Series H115i PRO RGB 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler
Case: IN WIN 805C Mid Tower - Black
Graphics Card: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080Ti OC 11GB Graphics Card

Thanks so much for all incoming answers!

I will give it a read, Quick question. it seems that most games dont support the 21:9 ratio of the monitors, which will leave some of the sides just black and ruin the experience of the game. Have most games tried to included support for the ultrawide aspect ratio or are we still stuck with black space on each side of the wide monitors?
