4K Virtual Super Resolution

Ok, so before i started gaming on a pc, i used to play on a xbox 360@720p. When i switched to PC, the change from 720p to 1080p was amazing, it was such a big difference. I've just tried AMD's Virtual Super resolution from 1080p to 1440p, and from 1080p to 4K, and to be honest i can't notice a difference, am i missing something or what...? Shouldn't the jump from 1080p to 4k be more noticeable than 720p to 1080p?

You do not have enough pixels to see the improvement.

These features tend to reduce jaggies and is actually similar to how old AA used to work. It has has the advantage of performing AA on transparent texture.

4k also has a rather large performance hit, but is the best because it will allow better down scaling.

So there's no point in upscaling my 1080p monitor to 4k or 1440p?

It should have some image quality improvements, but it is just not the same as having the extra pixels.

Also remember game textures are only so big.

Thanks for the help, by the way, this is kind of off-topic but, is there a way to upscale my monitor refresh rate? Because on AMD's Radeon Config it says i can go up to 75hz, is this possible?

A program called Custom Resolution Utility allows adding and testing custom refresh rates for AMD and Nvidia(not actually needed however) cards.

If you plan to try this you will have to try 1hz at a time to find how far you can go.

Now you run into more interesting things. Some screens will simply skip frames when the refresh rate is modified. this will result in a studder instead of a smoother experience.

Many screens that support 75hz do so at a lower resolution.

I would check out some guides before starting that kind of fun.
