I have recently started editing footage for Panasonic GH4. My computer has a p2 256gb samsung 950e ssd and a 3tb toshiba HDD, 16gb of ddd4 ram, and 6700k processor. I was wondering if any of my specs were not up to par for editing 4k footage because I'm still getting some lag and the computer isn't running the smoothest. Do I need RAID storage, an NAS storage, more RAM, another GPU? Did I not set up the system correctly? I have the SSD for the OS and programs and the HDD for other files.
Other random question: anyone know the best way to get files from camera to computer. I have been connecting straight to computer because the card reader was a piece of junk. Any good recommendations on a card reader you rep or an alternative would be appreciated
So far most of the options online look like cheezy junk. Looking for a real product that gets the job done, price isn't an issue just want to streamline the whole process and be able to work efficiently.
