I have recently started editing footage for Panasonic GH4. My computer has a p2 256gb samsung 950e ssd and a 3tb toshiba HDD, 16gb of ddd4 ram, and 6700k processor. I was wondering if any of my specs were not up to par for editing 4k footage because I'm still getting some lag and the computer isn't running the smoothest. Do I need RAID storage, an NAS storage, more RAM, another GPU? Did I not set up the system correctly? I have the SSD for the OS and programs and the HDD for other files.

Other random question: anyone know the best way to get files from camera to computer. I have been connecting straight to computer because the card reader was a piece of junk. Any good recommendations on a card reader you rep or an alternative would be appreciated :) So far most of the options online look like cheezy junk. Looking for a real product that gets the job done, price isn't an issue just want to streamline the whole process and be able to work efficiently.

Thank you!

I believe it's s R9 380. Would buying another and using both be a good idea?

    ■ Lag as in stuttered mouse and keyboard? or slow scenes loading/filter+transition+effects appliance? as other suggestion, adding discrete graphic card will help if turn out that it was caused by integrated CPU graphic. Personally I'd plan serious 4K editor such as Sony Vegas 14 or Adobe Premiere CC, those editor scale up to High End DeskTop builds.
Native 4K monitor, that suppose to be your future buy after you have top 4K video editor and decent graphic card.
    ■ No, its USB 2.0, its pretty fast for gigabyte files, why not go to photography forum and ask for what's the fastest UHS-I Speed Class 3 (U3) card and its card reader that compatible to GH4, I use Lexar card, its ~ 80MB/s on USB and ~ 50MB/s on WiFi.
