Hey,
I have a Drobo DR04DD14 (DAS) with 4.4TB of storage capacity. I currently have about 1.5TB of it in use, and 2.9TB of free storage. I wanted to use this drive on my network instead of just on one computer, so I connected it to the USB2.0 port of a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND router. But in the USB storage sharing settings it shows up as a 196MB disk, of which 0 bytes are used. When I try to access the disk I get a 'Server not Found' prompt.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Hey there, thijmenmees.

It's highly possible for you not to be able to use the DAS enclosure with the router. Basically there are often issues with compatibility when it comes to regular external drives and a router, not to mentioned if you decide to connect a whole DAS system.

So I'd recommend that you check the maximum capacity drive that the router supports, to see if the 4.4TB exceed that limit. Other than that you should check if there are any specific settings you should set before you connect the DAS, by contacting the router manufacturer's customer support.
You can also try to update the router's firmware, if there are any updates available and try again.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Hey Boogieman,

Thanks for the reply. I contacted customer support, they told me I had to partition the drive, because the router can only handle partitions up to 2TB. I'm partitioning it at the moment. I'll update you on if it worked.
