4tb hdd is being read as 2tb hdd

How do I make it see that I'm using a 4tb hdd?

This is a new build...

Windows 8 Professional
WD Black 4TB HDD

You need to initialize the disk with the GPT partitioning scheme: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2581408
