4tb prices question

Just looking around at the internal 3.5'' drives, I've noticed 1-3tb drives are separated by very little in terms of price for all the different brands. However, 4tb drives are about 30-50usd more than a 3tb drive depending on where you buy.

Is there something about 4tb drives that would justify this price gap compared to 1-3tb drives?

Solution
1-2 TB drives are quite inexpensive...

3 TB models seem to have high failure rates, could be bad luck...I skip them!

4 TB drives are still semi-reasonable, down to about $125-$140, depending on which model chosen (HGST, or WD Red, etc...)
