I have been trying to copy this 30 GB file from my external hdd to the computer but suddenly its speed is showing 355KB/s... I have waited for more than 7-8 hrs ...neither it is showing any file corrupt message or file redundancy error....is it a sign of hard drive failure.

Hello Anjan Basumatary, the data transfer process can be slowed down or interrupted due to a logical or hardware errors.

To dismiss a hardware related error you may change the cables, ports (and if possible) the computer.

Additionally, and although counter-intuitive, you might have better luck (dataq integrity-wise) on a USB 2.0 port vice attempting sustained USB 3.0 operations, which sometimes induces serial driver circuitry overheating in long/sustained reads for some external USB drives...
