4th monitor not working, sapphire dual-x r9 280

Hi everyone,

I am looking for help, as I've been making a basic flight simulator and can do all the making etc but can not get a 4th vga monitor to work, it will detect it but then says you must save previous settings before applying.

Its got 2 dvi ports a hdmi and a display port, im using a dvi to vga adapter.

I've also tried using a pluggable usb to vga connection but this does not work on my pc?

any help would be greatly appreciated,

Verify the graphics card actually supports four displays. Most allow you to use a maximum of three.

Are you using a DP monitor? Or is there an adapter there?

i believe the card does support 4 displays, and yes im using the display port cdmi and a dvi

Is it an active adapter? We need lots more details.

This is my setup at home. Powered by a 7950/280, I'm using two active mDP to DVI adapters for the surrounds. Straight DVI for the center monitor, and my TV is hooked up with a 25' HDMI cable as well. (not in the picture though.) If you can only get three to work I suspect your DP to DVI adapter isn't an active one.

The DVI to VGA adapter will only work on the graphics card's DVI-I port. It won't work on the DVI-D port since there are no analog video signals available from that port to pass along.

im not converting dp anything, the computer will detect the 4th screen just won't use it which is the same case for both dvi ports

im using an adapter that i got in a usb to dvi/vga/hdmi device

What's on the other end? You are really using one VGA, DVI, HDMI, and DP monitor?

so i am using 2 aoc 21.5" monitors with dp and hdmi inputs, one actually using dp (from the graphics card dp) the other hdmi (from a dvi port in a direct cable) and the 3rd ( samsung 21") using cdmi to hdmi)

I still suspect its the adapter. I feel you need something like this.
