4th slave hard disk error

when i am starting my pc it says 4th slave hard disk error and on further note on disk management it's shows only as 137 gb.When i try to initialize it's giving me i/o error.Its a 2tb seagate barracuda internal hard disk.I am using windows 7.It was working all right till morning when i last checked it with hd tune pro one day ago it had no bad sectors or any type of error.what to do? please help

Doesn't really matter if the S.M.A.R.T. is reading other issues. As it says there is only 137GB on a 2TB Drive, unless you used up 1.8TB of data, sounds like HDD failure. Easiest checks would be

1) Try disconnecting and reconnect the cable to a different SATA port
2) Disconnect the drive and try in another computer

The second will prove / disprove the issue fully (failed drive). If under warranty you should seek a RMA - YES YOUR DATA IS LOST, unless you want to void the warranty and send it to a Professional Data Recovery service which starts in the $1000s and up, and will rip apart the physical drive to get at the platters storing your data.

Thanks.I think the hdd is gone for good.Due to no smart error i didn't back it up like my other hard drive.My study notes,music,pics all are lost as i cant afford data recovery.
