4th Slve Hard Disk Error

When I turn on my computer, It says 4th Slave Hard Disk Error, press F1.
what could be the problem and Is there any way I could solve it? Thanks.

I hate to ask more questions but I don't have any answer for you or even possibility's at this moment.

1. just wondering does the computer boot?
2. if not what happens when you press f1?
3. if doesn't boot does hard drive show up in bios?
4. if you can read your motherboard is the hard drive or dvd pluged into port number 4 on the motherboard?

if its booting then it could be the dvd drive is bad. have you tried a disk in it if the computer boots?

sorry to ask questions but im trying to get info to mabe where I can help you. so far no one else on the fourm has responded to your question so I will see if I can help you at all.


1. I have one HDD, and one DVD drive installed to the computer
2. small cables to motherboard
3. didn't try to add another drive.
