Hi, my motherboard says dual-channel on it, so when i built my PC I put 2x4gb of ram in. Now games are utilizing having more then 8gb. can I just buy 2x4Gb of ram again, so that I have 16gb, or will it not work? Can I just buy 1x4gb of ram so that I have 12gb?

Hi Minecraft, if your motherboard supports 16gb of RAM then 4x4Gb will work, espcially since you already have 2xGb working.
You can even go with 12GB but then you will run single channel. This may not affect performance for what you are doing, but I would advise against it. 16Gb is a good number these days and having dual channel going will make you feel better about your system for sure.

Also it is best to buy the same RAM to avoid issues with the dual channel.
