5.1 Audio Mobo

Is it possible to get 7.1 Surround sound out of a 5.1 supported only mobo? (Like optical cables etc) Just curious, and if so, how would the audio quality differ?

Install a 7.1 sound card. Your 5.1 doesn't have enough speaker jacks for a 7.1 speaker system.

Yeah I realized I could install a card - thanks for the reply! Know of any good cards?
