I recently bought msi z97 pc mate..
In the box it was written that this Motherboard can handle upto 7.1 speaker configuration.....but it has
Only 3.sound output channel & sadly i was not able to connect my 5.1 sound system...

Yes, my motherboard is the same, the reason for this is more than a single channel of audio on a single 3.5mm (headphone) connection.

If I recall correctly, my front port is front left and front right (single 3.5mm connection).
Then there is a Left/Right side, with Subwoofer (single 3.5mm connection).
And Center, rear left/right (single 3.5mm connection).

I already tried that process but realtek works weirdly in msi's Motherboard.....msi have inbuilt creative cinema application that creating problem....its not able to detect my sub woofer.....

Ive had a similar problem with the creative A550 speakers, the sub has no "Boom" right?
Have you tried re installing SoundBlaster Cinema?

I have 1 more question.....
I have ati r9 285....so how can i connect my 5.1 sound system through hdmi....
I am asking this question because i think this graphic card have a audio output(amd calls it-true audio).....

You would most likely need to connect your HDMI PC output into a audio receiver of some type that is able to relay the video to the tv/monitor. This would allow the audio receiver to do the audio magic, while passing the video to the display of your choice. If you are simply sending HDMI audio/video to a standard HDTV that only has on board stereo speakers, don't expect 5.1 to appear magically.

However, my Sony Bravia (HDTV) is able to send the audio through optically to my receiver from a HDMI input from my PC to my audio receiver, which from all the tests I've tried, seems to work just fine.

Really though, you could find some dual pin (stereo) input to triple pin (3 way) output 3.5mm headphone converters somewhere. This would allow you to use 5.1 on your 3 connections on your motherboard. Much cheaper than a "real" sound card.

If your serious about audio, get a sound card. Creative labs has good gaming sound cards. I really enjoy my Asus Xonar, granted its stereo only.
Double check that your speaker/amp inputs match your sound card outputs to prevent similar problems.

Good Luck!
