Custom Watercooling Loop from EKWB with 240mm Radiator

With my system I was able to overclock to 4.7ghz as a base and 5.5ghz as turbo with constant voltage of 1.29v. This board is either weird or I did something wrong. The speed is always maintained at 5.45ghz at basic usage with Firefox, Spotify and HWMonitor open. Idle temps are around 35C at 5.45ghz and under full load using Aida64 the max temp is 86C at 5.50ghz after 4 minutes of CPU stress testing with cooling running at full. So far everything seems fairly stable after almost an hour of regular usage. Oh and I forgot to mention, the CPU is only using 3 watts at basic usage. Under full load is when it rises up to 100watts.

Any suggestions for better performance?
Will keep you updated if anything happens

i have never seen a 4790k at anything above 5ghz with out liquid nitrogen and as specially not at 1.29 volts
are you using cpuz to verify speeds if so post a screenshot

i think something is lying to you

you should not see 5.45 at idle with 3wat tdp and at 35c

Ahh. I found what was lying to me. It was a mistake to trust Task Manager for speed. Here's a screen shot of what CPU-Z says compared to Task Manager.

My mistake

ok that makes much more sense.

depending on your cooling and what your load temps are you may be able to push 4.8,
you are on the right track

if you are pushing 90c in prim 95 you are pretty much at your max oc

under full load you will run 100w or more, and as far as getting more efficiency make sure your os is not in performance mode(found in power options) and set adaptive voltage in the bios

On my i5 4690K I find I need a little bit of Offset with my Adaptive. The total can then be a thou or two less. I'm not sure that makes sense, but it's what I get. What's your memory speed? I need to run mine at 2400Mhz to get to 4.8Ghz.

that is what i am running but my oc is 4.9

corsair h110 running at 1.35v

i attempted the legendary 5.0 got it to boot at 1.45v but idle was runing at like 45C and it crashed during any use
