5 Beep post then my PC boots

I built my new PC a few days ago. Have been very busy so haven't gotten to use it much yet. Have been downloading drivers and some games. Today I launched after a Windows update and I get 5 short beeps in post. Then after about 15 seconds it continues to boot to Windows. My boot time is very slow and not sure why the beeps. When I left the PC last night it booted with one beep meaning normal boot. Now I cannot even enter the bios. Help!!

5 short beeps is a CPU error. http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/faq-page.aspx?fid=816

I'd suggest reseating your CPU (and looking out for bent pins).

It's likely just a little loose.

Sounds like you have a BIOS problem or a hardware problem.

Try clearing the CMOS. If you can find the manual the motherboard came with, it'll show you what to do. If you can't find the manual, look up your motherboard online and find the manual there.

While online, try and find the motherboard's beep codes. That'll help you find the hardware problem. Your PC boots, so try taking out all the ram, and test each stick by booting your PC with a single stick. If your PC doesn't boot/gives beeps, that's a ram problem. Just make sure to test every stick individually. If your PC gives beeps for every stick, its probably another piece of hardware. What OS are you using?

Barty1884 is right, it is a CPU issue and apparently Gigabyte have not documented this well in the manuals. I would suggest you try Barty's solution and reseat your CPU and make sure the pins on your motherboard are not bent. If that fails, RMA your board because they do have a certain failure rate with units walking wounded. Goodluck, sure looks like a sweet build.

Narrowed it down to a bios issue. Cleaned and replaced CPU and cooler. No luck. Cleared bios and restarted all good just slow boot. Returning Mobo and going to a different one.
