5 beeps after pcie riser install

Hey all, ive recently bought a flexibele pcie riser for my gtx960 since it wont fit in my custom case. I know the gpu isnt broken because it boots fine without the riser. Thing is, if i connect the riser to my first pcie16 conncection on my mobo, the fans start spinning but no image. If i connect the riser to the second connection and i press the power button, i get 5 beeps. Motherboard is an asrock fatality b250 gaming k4.

Then the problem is with the riser. If it's a cheap riser then the assembly quality is most likely poor.
