[SOLVED] 5 Beeps on z390 when plugged into gpu

My computer beeps 5 times when it boots - but only when connected to the video card output. It's a Z390 Designare mobo (latest bios) with a GeForce RTX 2080 video card. When i plug the monitor directly into the mobo and boot, there's no beeps. In either case, the system comes up and after that, moving the plug to the video card works.

Anybody else experience this?

16G of Kingston 2666Mhz DDR4
M.2 drives

nice PSU
5 beeps ull get if your GPU cannot detect monitor
cable isnt fully seated in (could be case obstruction or bad port on gpu)
