5 long beeps 12 or so short beeps beep code

i had a problem with my computer ( http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1746480/computer-stuck-loading-operating-system.html ) and after i took out the motherboard battery and put it back in, it would beep the code in the title. I testing the components one by one. The CPU is fine, i put in the RAM and it made the beeps. So i figured it was the video card but it still made it after i put that in. When i got the computer used and not working it made the codes, i reseated everything and it worked for about a month. Now it isn't. The computer is a Gateway GT5628.
Motherboard: Intel Schroedertown g33 chipset
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
RAM: 2gb ddr2 667mhz
Video Card: xfx ati radeon hd 4890 (oldish)

Your computer is trying to talk to you.

Read your mobo's manual to find out what those beep codes are.

Could be bad RAM, or any attached peripheral.

Startup the computer with only the HDD, CPU, 1 stick of RAM is the slot furthest from the CPU.

Ensure ATX power pins are plugged in properly and the RAM slots are clean. Try each RAM in each slot. Do you have another stick of working RAM?

What was the issue in the first place that made you reset CMOS?

The operating system crashed. It wouldn't load past a driver, and wouldn't boot up into safe mode either. I changed a hard drive setting before that though because the hard drive was set up as RAID, but there was only 1 hdd. i do have other ram that i will try. I'm also gonna try replacing the motherboard battery. Its old. I didn't get a motherbaord manual though so i can't check the beep code.

if you have two sticks of ram try one at a time.

well it was the battery. I plugged it in, the beep code stopped, and it loaded up to the screen that says Gateway and Intel. Now its frozen there, i tried accessing BIOS and i couldn't get in, after multiple taps of F10 it just beeps.
