Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to connect 5 monitors to 1 GPU (GTX 780) by using any type of splitter (if so, which one would I need to look for?).

The setup would be like: 1 main monitor (Asus VS247H if I'm correct) and 4 17' Acer V173 (VGA only). I would use the Acer monitors for side tasks like skype/ browsing the web etc.

At the moment I have 2 monitors, but I can pick up the 4 Acer monitors for a very cheap price making it worth it to buy a splitter/ any other device.

Emerald: Wrong, sorry. Since it isn't for gaming, you can use something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/USB-Display-Adapters/SubCategory/ID-3046

A more pricey solution...

I was afraid that would be the case :L. But I was hoping their might be some sort of splitter that would let you connect multiple monitors to one GPU output. Oh well, I'll just stay with the 3 I got at the moment then ^^.

for one monitor, and connect the rest up using adapters, like HDMI to VGA, DVI to VGA, DP to VGA.

These will be a bit expensive though since it is a digital to analog conversion, and in total you could be looking at $100 for the adapters. However, be sure to get the adapters from a reputed brand, like amazon basics or cable matters, since cheaper cables often stop working or don't work from the start (The cables are a form of DAC, so they have a chip and circuitry inside, which is often of lower quality in cheaper cables.).

In closing,

Is it possible? Yes. But a bit expensive (though if you are buying 4 monitors, this is relative.), and a bit complicated, but completely doable.
