Hi Folks,
Have an issue that Asus is not correcting.
Three weeks ago built: Z97-Deluxe, 4790 K, DC, Corsair Vengence 1866, 8 gig, 1000 w PSU,
Evga 570 Classified GPU, Corsair Water.

Installation went fine - and after testing etc., all was and has been well.

I installed the AI Suite 3, as admin., and it along with the programs that are in the suite.
I did not nor have not changed anything in BIOS.

OK - Started AI Suite, and the 5 Way Optimization is Grayed out and not accessible.
Long story shorter, Removed the entire suite, used the ASUS cleaner, d/l'd the latest AI Suite 3,
the latest MEI program, up-graded to the latest BIOS, installed AI Suite 3 again, all as admin.

I still cannot access the 5 Way Optimization as it's still grayed out. I have also cleared the CMOS to no avail.

Any ideas how I can get this to work - as ASUS has not been able to solve it yet?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Tom

I'm not sure, but I use the EZ tweaker in the BIOS for the last 3 Asus motherboards and it is the same program as the optimizer except in BIOS form, in fact what the optimizer does, is it does the same thing as the EZ tuner, except in Windows, and then restarts your computer and changes the BIOS settings just as the tuner does. It is really the samething. What you won't get is the Fan control, but you should be able to do that separately or the energy saving features, but if you are like me you don't use them cause you want your computer overclocked all the time. Seriously save your current profile in BIOS so you can go back to it if you want and try it. Just like the 5 way if you try to tune it too high it will reboot the machine...

Brighttail,
Thanks so very much for your reply. It's refreshing to finally hear from someone on this issue - Asus just keeps sending me to d/l .pdf's on data that I already know and have.

I'm almost positive that I move (one jumper) to pin 2/3 for overclocking. Don't think they're anymore other than the TPU, EPU, and Mem -
I'll check tomorrow and report back.

Thanks so very much again, and have a blessed week.

Hello Brighttail,
FYI - today I received an email from an ASUS Tech - he said to move my oc jumper to pin 2 and 3 - you just beat him to the punch OR he read our thread??? go figure???

In any event, powered down main, opened case, AND the jumper was already on pins 2 & 3. TPU is set all the way to right, which is what you use for manual / or / Five Way Optimization. Environment (EV) is turned ON as well as the Memory oc switch........

Reseated jumper to pins 2 / 3 - turned power on, Cleared CMOS, rebooted, sent me to BIOS, which I immediately F5'd and booted to desktop. Fired up AI Suite 3 (always get the little box message telling me to make sure I have MEI installed before running AI Suite - which I DO have the latest version) - WELL, 5 Way Op.....is still grayed out and not accessible.

Do you have any more ideas......I really don't think ASUS is leveling with everyone. I have read some threads that's saying there is a problem with AI Suite 3, but I do know it's working for others.

Thanks so much for your interest and help.

There have been issues with AI Suite 3 but I haven't heard this one. Only thing I would suggest is bypass it by going into BIOS > Advanced > hit F11 and have it tune it manually there. It is the same program only for BIOS.

Hello again friend,
Yes, I know that has been an option and one I may have to rely on.
I have another 4 month old build with the X79-Deluxe / 4820 K - and I used the 4 way Opti. and I have a super stable 4.8 oc.....just loved the fact I didn't have to spend hours tweaking and stressing..............and this is the main reason I went with the Z97 Deluxe. I just wish I knew IF it was a faulty mb that I need to rm / or / if it's actually a software problem???

Thanks for your help.

Many blessings!
