Hello, I'm in need of some advice.

Last night I downloaded two things; Battlefield 4 Premium Edition and AMD Catalyst Controller. I attempted to start up BF4 after it was done installing, but it warned me that my AMD drivers were out of date and that performance may suffer because of it. So I went to AMD's website and tried to download the drivers for my gpu, well I was getting slightly confused with the layout, so I skipped it and downloaded the Catalyst Controller to do it for me.

All went well, the game ran fine, nothing odd happened.

Until a few moments ago, I turned on my pc in hopes of playing BF4 and I noticed that my HDD was 50 gigs fuller than it was last night when I signed off.

My HDD is 2 TB (1.8) and I had 549.1 GB used last night, I came on today and saw that it was 598.9 GB used, worse yet, it seems to continue to take up space from no running program as far as I can tell.

I searched all of my new program files for anything out of the ordinary, but nothing stuck out, I even googled issues with either program, to no avail.

Does anyone know what I should do? I'm afraid to run anything because I don't want to cram my hard drive full of useless crap in minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

P.S. I cleaned my drive, I'll run a defrag and virus scan when I'm done, but I'm unsure if it will do anything.

Solution
Just a FYI, if you bought the full BF4 package, it will take that much but takes a long time (over night) to download all the additive maps, etc. You could play BF4 without the addons simply because you were 1st level starting out, but NO it wasn't AMD's fault or any other ideas you may have. Now that you seem a bit freaked out let's just make sure the status of your computer none the less.

YES you may have done these steps, but lets do it again as of THIS POST, so we have results EXACTLY this way at this time n THIS manner.

Download and run SPECCY, copy and paste the first tab to show your idle temp

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download Comodo, Avira or AVG (AVAST! been hacked so I don't recommend...

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download Comodo, Avira or AVG (AVAST! been hacked so I don't recommend them anymore) and do a full system scan - this repeatedly has resolved alot of people issue relying on MS Essentials and Norton tends to get in the way of alot of programs it seems.

Download Malwarebytes do a full system scan (AV doesn't pick up alot of malware) - this resolved almost ALL other similiar posts to date as most had Malware the AV didn't pick up.

Repeat the AV/Malware scans till the system comes up clean.

Did you install all Windows Updates? Including options except BING? Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.
Download and run Slim Drivers, install all the latest updates but you don't need to reboot until you do the last update
Download MSI Afterburner and write down the FPS you do actually get IN GAME (it will display at the top) .

Let us know the results of all these steps, 90% of the time just these steps along resolves ALL the issues.

First and foremost thank you for replying, I read the post and did what you said.

Speccy is unnecessary, I have various other programs that all agree on 32c MAX idle temp 45c full load (i5 4670k @3.4Ghz w/ Noctua NH-D14).
I use Sophos, granted it has mixed reviews, it has proven itself where even Avast has failed in my personal experience.
My PC is malware and virus free and Windows 7 is up-to-date with everything, and BING is not on my pc.
All of my drivers are up to date and nothing is needed in that area.

My fps on BF4 on ultra is locked at 60, though unlocked it can peak in the high 90's and then sputters off into the mid 80's - high 70's. Also, the game was fully installed -DLC included- when I started it, and I have played it before during Origins free demo period.

Nothing helped except defragging, which cleared up about 20 gigs.

Thanks for the help, I'll update this if anything changes. I'm satisfied for now; though I would like to know where the hell 50 ghost gigs came from overnight.
