Hi!
I have an ancient optiplex 760 Dt lying around and my friend has a 9500gt (full height ddr3 version and i know it doesn't fit so i'm gonna use a pci e male to female extendor )which i can use. Just wanted to know if my 255 watt dell psu which is rated 88% can handle it.
Rest of system is
A 65watt q8400s
One hdd
4 dims of ram
And I'm gonna remove cd/dvd reader to save some watts and install gpu in its place.
So is it gonna work if i use my pc a good 6-8 hours a day

Solution
Usually Optiplex systems have pretty decent power supply units made by Delta.
Your PSU has 18A on the 12V rail, which means you'll have a 216W max power output(from this rail the CPU and GPU is fed... so it is the most important).

With the 9500GT your system will draw around 120-130W in full load.

That PSU will be enough for the system+ the 9500gt definitely.

By this calculator, its pretty tight (around 240w)
You still could run it, but its not recommended because theres not much head room.
