Hey guys, this website seems awesome for computer advice so I decided to ask for some advice on a new gaming system that I want to build. I built my current rig that decent parts, so I do have experience, but I want an upgrade to play future games.

Approximate Purchase Date: In 1-2 weeks

Budget Range: ~$500-700 after tax and shipping, and before rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, FPS games), multitasking.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca, ncix.com, tigerdirect.ca

Country of Origin: Canada

Parts Preferences: AMD or Intel is fine. Would like a good case. Not really looking for a lot of upgradeability; definitely want this to last without upgrading.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Preferably no.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, 24" monitor

Additional Comments: From Canada so I'm only going to buy from canadian sites/stores. I'm looking for a fast overall computer in general mostly for gaming. Thanks for the help!

Thanks r0aringdrag0n

I took your build and tweaked it a little since I don't think I'll need such a nice graphics card for Starcraft 2 and such.

My tweaked build:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955BE $115

Graphics: EVGA GTX 560 Fermi $185

MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2P $50

PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W $70

Case: Rosewill Cruiser Gaming Case $70

HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST3500413AS $40

RAM: CORSAIR XMS 4GB $34

Heatsink+Fan: STOCK (comes w/ CPU) $0

DVD-ROM: LG DVD Burner Model GH24NS70 $18

Total after tax and shipping: $688.51

Is this a good build for me? Thanks.

^ I'm confused at what you mean. The GTX 560 no Ti is competing with the 6870 and it is on par if not better. The 560 Ti is competing with the 6950 and both are comparable with the 560 Ti running cooler and quieter most of the time. He doesn't even need more than 550w since he's not going to need heavy graphics.
