Hey,
So I was given the task to help my brother build a new pc. I have built a couple of my own, but I haven't done so in over 4 years. So, I need some help. The goal is to get the best I can get for $500. I know he plays Fortnite but I want him to be able to branch out and play more graphically intensive games. Here's what I have so far, all suggestions are welcome:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($89.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($83.49 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB OC Video Card ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair - Carbide SPEC-04 TG ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair - VS 550 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $502.44

Solution
single stick ram for Ryzen is a no no, hinder performance too much, 2400 too slow. VS PSU is junk.
my take after $80 rebates:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($89.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($42.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team - Vulcan 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($61.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Adorama)
Video Card: XFX - Radeon RX 580 8 GB GTS Black Core Edition Video Card ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Thermaltake - Versa N21 ATX Mid Tower Case ($29.99 @ Newegg)...
You can do better with the money. I am just a touch over $500, but it comes with a 580, 2 sticks of RAM, better PSU, and a 500gb SSD. This rig is a budget price but is a midrange build.

A few mail in rebates but this would be a really good 1080P/med-high/60 FPS build.
