$500 Gaming pc (future SLI)

How is my first build :eek: am going to get another gtx 460 for SLI in the future and this is the basic for now ;)


cpu: phenom ii x3 720 OEM $75

graphic card: pny gtx 460> $130

ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws S4GB DDR3 1333 $25

mobo:MSI NF750-G55 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI> $90

case: Xigmatek ASGARD II B> $30

psu: Antec EarthWatts EA-650w> $70

CPU cooler: Rosewill RCX-Z80 $10

Burner: ASUS 24X DVD > $21

hard drive: 500G Western Digital Caviar> $42

Yes .. you can sli gforce 6600. You have to look at idle power and power under max load. Also PSU will go higher under max load. Also ther is efficiency as a 80+ certified. So you only get 80% of your power delivered



I think they will be about the same but athlon II x3 445 is best cpu for the money according to toms

The phenom is better due to its l3 cache and it has an unlocked multiplier, however it is an oem, so it does not come with a cooler. You would have to buy an aftermarket one putting the cost up higher.

If you need to fit into 500 just get i3-2100 and maybe even HD6870 and you'll be cool like a cucmber. The problem if you want sli/cf in the future u have to spend more on the mobo with 2 pcix that support 8x/8x. I'd rather go for single gpu mobo and decent CPU
