Not sure if my Corsair CX500M will be enough to power my new Gigabyte GTX 680 superOC (won't be doing any extra OC) will it destroy my system? Should I buy a 650w like what is recommended?

System:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2400 (3.1GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws (1600MHz) [2x4GB]
MOBO: ASUS H61M-K MicroATX
PSU: Corsair CX500M
CASE: Corsair Obsidian 450D

it should work...

BUT that psu is not very good and you are going to be loading it pretty hard

dont expect the psu to last very long

a gtx 1050 ti would be a much better choice for you, basically the same performance but WAY more power efficient

Thanks for all the replies guys but I'm on a budget and a GTX 680 in Australia is $100 cheaper than a 1050Ti for relatively the same performance. Just looked around and found a cheap Corsair CX650M. So it's either that or an Antec VP-700P which looks kinda sketchy tbh. Is Corsair a good brand for PSUs?
