500W PSU for 30-40$?

Is there a decent 500W PSU somewhere for 30-40$? My current is a 5 year old 400W so a change is needed. Any help is appreciated.

yep. never scrimp on the psu. you dont want to entrust a £/$500-3000 system to a £/$20 psu... as your looking to spend dollars then newegg has some very decent 550w psu's for 60-80bux.

seasonic are the better brands to look out for. you may pay a little more but you get so much more protection for that little extra.

It had 8GB of RAM put into it a couple years ago, X-Fi Titanium sound card, and I put in a GTX 650 Ti. Reason I want a 500W is so I can replace the Mobo/Ram/CPU sometime in the future.

Thank you for the info. It really is appreciated! 😀 I have Delta DPS-400RB A. Is it still recommended that I get a new PSU? The fan is refusing to start with the system. Had the same problem before, took it out and blew out a clump of dust clogging it. Worked fine for 5 months until now. I blew it out again while it was still in the PC case but that didn't do anything. Might take it out again and see if any more dust is causing a problem. What else could it be if nothing is clogging it?

Btw, I did get it to start but I had to spin the PSU fan with a pencil. After that, it works fine til I restart my PC.

You're having problems with the PSU's cooling fan. If that is the only problem with that PSU and you don't have the knowledge or ability to replace the fan then you will need a new power supply. Without an operational cooling fan the PSU will overheat and shut down or burn out.

The minimum I would recommend is the following:
