Hi there,
I am looking to upgrade my computer from my GTX 550 ti to the 970 GTX

I have a H67M-S/H67M-V/H67 motherboard so fitting the 970 should be fine. My main concern is my power supply which is currently a 500w PSU which is connected to my 550 using a 4 prong cable.
My technical pals have stated that i will be able to switch to a 6 prong cable with the GTX and therefore the 500W PSU will be sufficient.
Is this true or is their a risk that i may damage my computer?
Should i just buy a bigger PSU compatible with my motherboard for safe measure?
Cheers
