Just wanting a second opinion, I'm updating my PC from my i7 4790k to an i5 8400. I have my old 750w being put to work elsewhere. I plan to grab a modular power supply soon, but I have a spare 500w power supply laying around from a different build. Do you guys think this will safely power my current build, at least until I upgrade it to a modular power supply? Build list is as follows.
i5 8400
AsRock z370 (LEDs)
8GB DDR4
2 strips of LEDs
4 Case fans, (2 LED)
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
1TB HDD
Razer Blackwidow Keyboard
The power supply I have laying around is an 80+ EVGA. Tech sheet says it's rated for 40A on the 12v rail. According to the Cooler Master calculator it says the system will only pull 319w, I feel thats kind of low. Any input is appreciated.
