Hello,

I'm planning on building a PC sometime soon and I have 2 GPU options: R7 265 or R9 270. The R9 270 only costs a little bit more but has a big performance increase over the R7 265 but I'm not sure if a 500W PSU (it has 83% efficiency) will be enough to handle it. Any help will be appreciated.

Solution
yes, it will handle the r9 270 having a MAX TDP of 150W and requires 450W PSU minimun, so with your ENERMAX you are fine, ENERMAX is a quality PSU OEM, at level of SEASONIC for instance.

It can provide the following:

+3.3 V: 22 A
+5 V: 19 A
+12 V: 34 A (V1 24/21 V2) up to 408 W
-12 V: 0.3 A
+5 Vsb: 2.5 A

My PSU is an Enermax 500W NAXN ENP500AGT. It doesn't seem to be too well known but it has good reviews at the places where I shop.
