500w psu gtx 970 + i5 6500

Hello. I want to know if my psu - sirtec high power element 500w will be enough for an gtx 970 msi 4g and i5 6500 Without any problem. Thanks

Short answer: 500w is plenty for that.

Just need someone who knows branding to vouch for that being a shady brand or not.

500 watts is fine, you would probably spend near 250-300 , and i ve searched your PSU is 80+ bronze ,i think its good little bit old though

You could get a new one if you're looking to ensure. If you have zero options on that and just want to know compatibility, it's plenty of power.

If you can get a new one, get an EVGA or Corsair 500w. They're well known and reliable. There's other ones, but this is the easiest answer and those can be ~$50 or less.

The 500w EVGAs are not reliable, they are made by HEC and not good quality. The 550w GS, G2, and G3 are the reliable ones made by Seasonic and SuperFlower.

The only 500w Corsair is the original CX and CXm series which are not reliable at all and are fairly notorious for premature fails around the 1 yr mark.
The newer CXM series are better but only available in 450, 550, and 650w.

But with an i5 4460 or 4590 will be work? I have the gtx 970 and i dont have enough money to buy new one psu. Now i want to buy an processor and mobo. It will work for 3-4 months until i can change it? What u guys say...

500w will power even current builds, such as mine.

If you don't have the money to buy a PSU how could you buy a processor and mobo?

It will work until it no longer works. There's no definite time span except for average running life of one, which even then isn't guaranteed.

If you don't have money or want to spend any to change/upgrade, and want to only know if it works: its enough to power your system and should be fine

The High Power Element Series 500W HPC-500-H12S uses an old group regulated circuit design that isn't Intel C6/C7 power state compatible. You need to disable C6 and C7 processor power state support in the motherboard's BIOS to avoid problems.
