5050 RGB Led strip IR Sensor extend ?

Hey

i bought an 5Meter 5050 RGB led strip kit to apply in my CM Storm trooper. it is looked dam good took me over 8 hours to cut. solder and apply it. but the IR sensor isnt long enough. can i just split the cable and solder wires inbetween them to extend the sensor ?

The white Box has the IR

Cut and solder joined wires before OK?

The IR controller should be near the front of your case with the sensor. You shouldn't have to lengthen any wires if you plan it out properly.
