Question Differences between the 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR6 and the GDDR7 version ?

Hi

I noticed there are two versions of the 5060 Ti 16GB available in stores. One with GDDR6 and one with GDDR7. Both with same price.

How is that possible? This is a new card. What happened here? why there are two models one with supposedly newer memory type and they have same prices?

How much is better the GDDR7 version? Why they cost the same?

Because that's a 4060. Here's a 5060.

The 4060 TI was the last generation and indeed used GDDR6, while the newest generation is the 5060 TI and uses GDDR7. There's better resources online for the differences, but the short answer is that GDDR7 is about 40% faster than GDDR6.

Couldn't tell you why they cost the same though.

For your consideration, the picture shows a RTX 4060 Ti, not a RTX 5060 Ti.

So it literally depends on what you need. I'd personally prefer the 4060 Ti over the 5060 Ti because of the 16 GB of VRAM (vs, 8 GB, making it instantly obsolete). So in that situation, your 4060 Ti will be way more future proof and performant in games that require a lot of VRAM compared to the 5060 Ti.

EDIT: Oops, forgot you mentionned the RTX 5060 Ti 16 Gb. Then the answer is pretty obvious: this shows that there's a 20% performance improvement between the two models. If you can get 20% more FPS at the same price, then go for it.

5060 ti - are all GDDR7.
4060 ti - are all GDDR6.

If you find 5060 ti with GDDR6, then it's either fake or has wrong specs printed.
Amazon often has errors in their descriptions.
When in doubt, check graphics card manufacturers support site.
