50C on first boot up i7 4790k

Just booted up a brand new PC.
I7 4790k
Asus Z97-A mobo
Gtx 980
16gb hyper x
4tb had
240g ssd
Haf x case
Hyper 212 evo cpu cooler
First boot up of pc (into bios no software installed), bios shows 50c CPU temp. Is this high?
I used the pea method for applying paste. Could this be the issue?

on the cooler did you remove the plastic cover on the bottom of the heat sink. also is the small center pin lined up right so the cooler sitting flush on the cpu. make sure the cpu fan is in the cpu port not the option port on the mb. cpu cooler that size your room would have to be very hot for it to hit 50c or it under a lot of log like a game. you should see temps in the 35-40c.

the newer cpu the center of them are real hot. you need to put in paste so you cant see the letter of the cpu under the paste. make sure that it dont sqeeeze out.
