52" TV black out and pixels on the side

Hi I had this TV since 2009. I bought a new one but want to know if I can still fix this for my little brother.

The TV is black from the middle and on from the sides but really pixelated.

Fix it maybe, if you are OK with buying parts for it, you may need a new system board, possibly a new screen. Usually unless you already know what you may need and know how to replace the parts it's not worth it vs just buying a used working set.

I agree. By the time you buy parts. I even saw a 50 inch smart tv at Walmart recently with roku built in for about 220. So depending what parts cost, you might consider replacing.
