I plan to use a 2 TB WD Blue 5400 rpm hard drive to store all of my files that don’t have to do with my OS or games, I have a 1 TB M.2 for my OS, some apps and games.

Am I going to notice much difference with a slower rpm hard drive?

Should I just get a 7200 1tb for the same price and add another one down the road if I fill it up?

Thanks for helping out a new pc builder, this community is incredibly helpful.

Only time you’ll notice is during file transfers. Just using the drive for everyday use will be fine. You could even put games on it, only difference would be load times. For the money though, an Intel 660p is very fast and more reliable than a platter drive if you have important files. 5400 will work fine though.
